THE TOP 5 MOST-RECALLED NEW TV ADS (7/30-8/26)
First of all, for those of us less familiar with the term “recall,” it refers to whether an ad is memorable or not – that is whether respondents “recall” seeing them. Since we’re all deluged with TV ads, be it in our homes, airport lounges, restaurants, bars, or websites – I found this research intriguing.
Valtrex has the highest recall, which is interesting, as I can’t actually remember this particular Valtrex ad. The series of ads for Apple’s iPhone are impossible to miss and almost impossible to forget (at least in the short term – although this might be because I’m still lusting after one for my own). And while I love the Visa ads, it seems like most coffee shops can’t get my tab rung up this quick – still poetic license (and hyperbole) have always been the domain of Visa ads. So I asked our local baristas their opinion – and the consensus is that cash is still fastest. Sorry Visa!
Anyway, the following companies’ commercials have the highest recall for the end of the summer, according to IAG Research of New York:
